LYRICS

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

How much to give for wedding dinner angbao? Hmm...

My friend was sharing the below article she saw somewhere with me on the topic of "how much to give for wedding dinner angbao"?

http://www.singaporebrides.com/banquet_price.php <<<<<<< there u go..can use as a guideline...dun forget to factor your relationship with the bridal couple and as well as your own financial capability.....:)

===========================================================================
"Traditionally, wedding dinners are held to invite family and friends to join in the celebration of the joyous occasion. Gifts and presents are jus well wishes from them. However, over the years, practices have evolved in such a way that people invited to weddings are "expected" to cover their "share" of the cost of the dinner... people who give lesser than the so call market rate are looked upon as cheapo...

Is this fair? what about pple who are financially very tight, has commitments and are really unable to afford the market rate? should these pple not be invited to weddings then?

actually i think my mum was very right to point out to me that when pple turn up for your wedding, they are "giving you face" y should they waste their time and money to come to your dinner if otherwise? Even a $60 ang bao can get them a very good buffet at Shangri La-the Line oredi not to mention the market rate of $100.

So caught up we may be over the excitment of a wedding preparation, when we choose to hold our wedding dinner at a grand hotel, we should be financially prepared to bear the cost of the banquet. The angbaos are jus the well wishes from the guests.

so with the wise words of mum in mind, i give my angbao according to closeness, not location."

The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken is a poem by Robert Frost, published in 1916 in his collection Mountain Interval. It is the first poem in the volume, and the first poem Frost had printed in italics.

Poem
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Explanation and interpretations

Stanza 1
Line 1 - The roads represent the choices in life. Yellow wood represents Autumn.
Line 2 & 3 - The persona can only make one choice. He takes his time to consider the paths.
Line 4 & 5 - The persona looks at a road(first road) and see how far will the road take him.

Stanza 2
Line 1 - The persona takes the other road(second road).
Line 2 & 3 - The persona feels that he has made a right choice as the path is fresh and inviting.
Line 4 & 5 - Equal number of people pass through both roads today. Therefore, the paths look the same.

Stanza 3
Line 1 & 2 - The next morning, no one has yet to walk down the roads.
Line 3 - The persona thinks of taking the first road some other time.
Line 4 - However, the road(second road) leads him to another path and so on.
Line 5 - The persona will not return to take the other road.

Stanza 4
Line 1 & 2 - The persona will be telling stories about his decisions when he is old. His sigh can be either a sign of relief, happiness or regret.
Line 3 - It shows that the persona still remembers his choices back then.
Line 4 - The persona made a choice which not many people made.
Line 5 - That single choice made a lot of difference in his life.

The poem, especially its last lines, where the narrator declares that taking the road "one less traveled by" "made all the difference," can be seen as a declaration of the importance of independence and personal freedom. However, Frost likely intended the poem as a gentle jab at his great friend and fellow poet Edward Thomas, and seemed amused at the slightly "mischievous" misinterpretation. The Road Not Taken seems to illustrate that once one takes a certain road, there's no turning back, although one might change paths later on, they still can't change the past.

Yes..yes....attending intensive trainings in a short time is really draining...

And on top of it..there are so much to learn about...be legal terms, calculations figures, the different kind of forms, what loans are availables..how to handles with human beings, etc..

I seriously didnt realised being in this area would need so wide area of knowledge..I used to think this area is a pretty straight forward industry..not until I went through it myself...

Yes..I know "wan4 shi4 qi3 tou2 nan2"...there will be hicups here and there...struggling too...

I can make it my way through...by picking fast...I hope...no...rather I MUST!

Yes? No? Yes?

Ayeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Dont know whether to take that plunge or not, yes yes I agreed with trainer that I fall under the category of "wait till I am 99.9% knowledgable in this field then take the plunge"...

His reply was "might as well go be doctor or lawyer which need at least 6-7yrs of training."

Wait and wait..wait till cows all gone home...die and reincarnated loe!

Another example he quoted that all human beings are alike...we tend to build alot of imaginery obstacles for ourselves when in fact we could see is just 1 obstacle staring right in front of us...whether there will be another obstacle within a short distance or far away..we seriously dont know...we just assumed that there will be many more obstacles after that, right after we crossed the 1st one...WHY?? Why??

Eh..it was like "yi4 zhen1 jian4 xie3"...how true....

We, human being scared failures..objections...humiliation...

Hmm...think think think...see see see...think think think...see see see...

Happy Birthday Ah Tok...
