Picking up from the previous episode:
Ah Kok was caught littering and was subsequently told to do C.W.O. at Marina Bay for a day. Sad as he was, he still turned up on that fateful Friday morning for his C.W.O. As he was mechanically picking up the litter from the vast green field at Marina Bay, he unconsciously came to this tree. This may be an ordinary tree to most but to Ah Kok, it was a unique tree. For it was at this same tree, half a year ago, Ah Kok sat for many sleepless night before arriving at an important decision. The decision to let go of a special kite that he has been holding onto for many years. Today, Ah Kok is at the same spot again. A sudden urge to find that special kite came over Ah Kok. He slowly retraced his steps to the same branch where he last tied the string of that kite. Indeed, a string was tied there. But was it the same string that was attached to Ah Kok's kite? Ah Kok did not know for sure. Nevertheless, he decided to follow the string.
Memories of happy times spent together with the kite flooded Ah Kok's mind and soon a gentle smile appeared on his face. The walk down memory lane was sweet but short. As the string Ah Kok was following abruptly came to an end. He looked frantically around for any sign of that same kite that he had let go half a year ago. Just as Ah Kok was about to give up. A sudden gust of wind blew past; No, it was not someone breaking wind in his direction. It was really just the wind. A kite came floating down from a tree not far from where Ah Kok was standing. During that brief moment in time when the kite was falling, he knew for sure that it was that same kite...........
Ok! Question time: If you were Ah Kok, what would you do? Would you pick up the kite and put to waste those sleepless nights spent on deciding to let go of the kite? Or will you follow through the decision made half a year ago? Just before you made your decision let me tell you people an old father story. (Actually wanted to write "old GRANDFATHER story", but how to write grandfather stories when my nu'er and nu'xu men still haven't let me carry grandchild yet! And by the way, 7-11 stores wouldn't close down if you people stop buying 'it' from them. Really! It didn't close down when I stop buying 'it' from them....
The story : "Many, many years back, lao ba remember that I used to have a friend who also like to fly kite. Actually it was this same friend who introduced lao ba to kite flying and told me about the true meaning of kite flying. This friend once said," If William Snakespeare* says that life is like a stage where everyone plays a role. Then let me be the the fool who is flying the kite on this stage." I also remember this friend telling me that the most difficult part of kite flying is not getting the kite to fly but it is in letting go of a flying kite. Initially, I could not understand what this friend meant. But as I begin to understand and appreciate the art of kite flying, it grew harder and harder for me to let go of a flying kite.
*This is not a typo error. He is just another one of lao ba's friend.
Alright! After hearing about the true meaning of kite flying, have you people decided on how today's episode should end? I hope all of you have. For I am not going to write my ending this time.
